These policies set out how we work, what to expect, and the small print behind every booking. They keep things fair, safe, and consistent for every client.
If anything here is unclear, please get in touch at info@mcskinclinic.co.uk before you book.
Bookings and Deposits
All appointments are booked through our online system, in clinic, or by phone.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is taken at the point of booking to secure your appointment. The remaining balance is paid in clinic on the day of your treatment, or in advance if you prefer.
Appointments can be booked up to 12 months in advance and as little as 1 day before the start time.
For appointments that were booked more than 48 hours in advance, you must confirm your appointment at least 48 hours before it starts. Unconfirmed appointments may be released automatically.
Cancellations, Rescheduling and No-Shows
You can reschedule your appointment up to 72 hours before the start time at no cost. Your deposit moves to the new booking.
Within 72 hours of your appointment, the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit is required to rebook.
If you don’t arrive for your appointment, you’ll be charged the full treatment cost. The deposit covers 50%, and the remaining balance will be taken from the card on file.
If you need to cancel a same-week appointment due to genuine illness or emergency, call the clinic directly. We’ll always try to be reasonable. Anything outside the standard policy is at the clinic’s discretion.
Late Arrival
We run a tight schedule to give every client the full time they’ve paid for. If you’re running late, please call ahead.
Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean we can’t deliver the full treatment in the time remaining. In that case, you’ll either receive a shortened session at the full price or be asked to rebook with the deposit forfeited. We’ll always do our best to accommodate you.
Consultations
Every new client, and every existing client trying a new treatment for the first time, requires a consultation before their first session.
The consultation fee is £50 and is fully redeemable against your first treatment.
If at consultation we decide a treatment isn’t suitable for you, the consultation fee is still charged. This covers your practitioner’s time and expertise.
Consultations are also when we check for medical contraindications, discuss your goals, plan your treatment, and arrange any required patch tests.
Consent and Medical Information Forms
Before your appointment, you’ll be sent a link by email to complete your forms online. These cover your medical history and your consent to treatment, and must be completed before you arrive.
Forms are mandatory. If they aren’t complete when you arrive, we’ll ask you to complete them in clinic before treatment can start. This may not leave enough time to deliver your full treatment, and we reserve the right to refuse treatment on the day where forms haven’t been completed in good time.
For consultations and first appointments, you’ll complete the full set. For follow-up appointments, we may ask you to re-confirm specific information so we’re always working from current details. New treatment types require a fresh treatment-specific consent before booking.
You’re responsible for telling us if anything has changed since you last completed your forms, or if there’s anything you didn’t disclose. This includes new medications, health conditions, recent procedures, pregnancy, or anything else that could affect your suitability or safety for treatment. Please raise this before your appointment where possible, or with your practitioner on arrival.
Treatment cannot proceed without completed and accurate forms. Where information is withheld or inaccurate and this affects treatment outcomes or safety, the clinic cannot be held responsible.
Patch Tests
A patch test is required at least 48 hours before your first chemical peel or microneedling treatment, and may be required for other treatments at your practitioner’s discretion.
Patch tests are non-negotiable. They protect you from adverse reactions. If you skip your patch test or arrive without one when one is required, your appointment will be rebooked and your deposit forfeited.
Medical Information and Suitability
Please disclose all relevant medical information at consultation and before every treatment. This includes:
Medications (including Roaccutane, blood thinners, antibiotics, steroids, immunosuppressants)
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Recent surgery or cosmetic procedures
Skin conditions, allergies, or known sensitivities
Recent sun exposure, sunbed use or fake tan
Your practitioner reserves the right to refuse, postpone, or modify a treatment if it isn’t safe or appropriate for you. This is always in your interest. Where a treatment is declined for safety reasons, your deposit can be moved to a more suitable treatment.
Treatments will not be performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding unless specifically cleared by your practitioner. Microneedling and chemical peels are not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding under any circumstances.
Age Policy
Treatments at MC Skin Clinic are available to clients aged 18 and over.
Where a specific treatment is explicitly listed as suitable for under-18s, it may be booked from the stated minimum age with written parental or guardian consent and at the clinic’s discretion. Microneedling, chemical peels and other advanced clinical treatments will remain 18+ only.
If a treatment doesn’t have an age suitability stated, it is 18+ by default.
Aftercare
Aftercare is part of your treatment. Following your practitioner’s guidance is essential for results and safety.
For peels and microneedling, this includes strict SPF use, avoiding sun exposure, no active skincare for the recovery window, and any specific advice given on the day.
Failure to follow aftercare guidance may affect your results and, in some cases, your skin’s safety. The clinic cannot be held responsible for outcomes where aftercare instructions weren’t followed.
Programmes and Courses
Treatment programmes (Bespoke Skin Method, Age Elements, Scalp Restoration) are sold at a discounted rate against the cost of individual sessions.
Programmes must be completed within the stated duration plus a 4-week grace period. Sessions not used within this window are forfeit.
Where genuine medical reasons prevent you completing a programme, please contact us in writing and we’ll review on a case-by-case basis.
Programmes are non-refundable once started. If you choose to stop a programme partway through, used sessions are charged at full single-session RRP and the difference (if any) is forfeited.
MC Collagen Banking Club Membership
The Collagen Banking Club is a 12-month minimum-term membership at £65 per month, collected by recurring payment.
By joining, you commit to the full 12-month term. The membership cannot be cancelled within the minimum term as a matter of course.
Where a member wishes to leave the membership early, this is possible at the clinic’s discretion and subject to an early exit fee equal to 50% of the remaining term’s monthly fees.
After the 12-month term, the membership continues monthly and can be cancelled with 30 days written notice.
Other membership terms:
Sessions are booked on pre-set clinic days only and in 30-minute express format
48 hours minimum cancellation notice on membership sessions. Late cancellations forfeit the session
Where sufficient notice is given, missed sessions can be rolled to the end of the membership term
Membership sessions are microneedling-only and don’t include add-ons
Members receive 10% off other treatments and retail products
Memberships are not transferable
Retail Products and Gift Vouchers
Sealed and unopened retail products can be returned within 14 days of purchase with proof of purchase for a full refund. Opened skincare cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. They are non-refundable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are transferable to another named recipient. Lost vouchers cannot be replaced.
Photography and Consent
We may take before-and-after photographs to track your skin progress and, with your separate written consent, to use on our website, social media or marketing materials.
Photography is opt-in. You will be asked at consultation whether you consent to your images being used externally, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us in writing.
Clinical photos taken as part of your records may be retained for our internal use regardless of marketing consent. These are stored securely and are not shared.
Refunds on Treatments
Treatments are services. Once a treatment has been delivered with reasonable skill and care, it is non-refundable.
If you’re unhappy with a treatment, please tell us within 7 days. We’ll review and, where appropriate, offer a complimentary review session or remedial treatment.
Complaints
If something hasn’t gone right, we’d rather hear about it.
Please email info@mcskinclinic.co.uk with the details. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 28 days.
Your Data
We hold the minimum personal and clinical information needed to treat you safely and run the business. This is stored securely, in line with UK GDPR.
We don’t share your data with third parties for marketing. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@mcskinclinic.co.uk.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse or end any service where:
A treatment isn’t clinically suitable or safe
A client behaves in a way that’s threatening, abusive or disrespectful to your practitioner or others
Required information (medical history, patch test, consent) hasn’t been provided
In these cases, the deposit is non-refundable.
